The Reason
Faith – amid the silent rancor falls
Determined ‘neath the Son.
All’s unsheathed, revealed sterling
Bright – a sacrifice of all remorse;
All sanctity – all that is given –
For fault lies elsewhere this day: that’s a small
Succinct fact; pray more for your luck,
For your seeming retribution’s offering: the
One you give so willingly, so brightly, so
Determined in the flow where there is nowhere
Left to go; boxed in this July are you so close
To God’s intervention – he shakes the earth and
Skies to loose you from illusion from pain,
From all that remains a muddle in sound and fury;
A sudden season’s storm, in evening’s rest.
Here is where it lies: for within this strain to reign
Supreme, the arms of kings will summon still the
Summer, the wind, the leaves upon the water…
All dances now before you, before your will undone-
A sum total of all that calls to order,
All to kingdom come,
All to cast asunder,
All to be undone.
