Reality Versus the Claim
The Reality Versus the Claim
By Elton Camp
When an online acquaintance you make
All claims with a grain of salt better take
The assertion, “I am totally drug free”
In reality, addicted to heroin may be
Then that claimed college degree
From a poor diploma mill may be
If he says he’s financially secure
That’s quite questionable for sure
“I have lots of thick, curly hair”
May hide that his pate is bare
Perhaps it’s his chest that’s hirsute
Here’s hoping you think that cute
“An athletic figure I have got”
Doesn’t tell it has gone to pot
So he like to take walks very far
But that’s because he has no car
“I love to have variety in my life”
Means he’s seeking an eighth wife
“I just love cooking and cleaning”
For you to do it, perhaps meaning
When you finally meet face-to-face
Be prepared harsh reality to embrace
