Real poets understand poetry. I don’t.
Real poets write in flowery words. I don’t.
Real poets love poetry, and so do I.
Real poets publish poems, and so do I.
Real poets score fifty percent to one hundred percent on this little gauge.

Hello Caren … the word poetry seems to caste a wide net over many genres, but we all have our favourites and I reckon that's what poetry gives us all - a choice. Nice wisdom Caren - Lindsay

Thank you Lindsay. I think there used to be a lot less loose-ness with the word; I remember thinking when I took a poetry class in college that the meters and other dynamics were way over my head. I stayed in that course, however, because I needed to HEAR people read poetry, while I was taking counseling classes that were not feeding my soul the way the hearing poetry was.

You know, sometimes those big flowery words ward off editors. Now, who was it who originally defined the word, Poetry? If we were all writing like Shakespeare, it would be a very boring world. Though he wasn't a boring writer; I do love his works but, there aren't enough people reading poetry these days; so shy complicate it? Love it!

I am vastly uncomplicated. If I use a big word, a long word, or a flamboyant word, please know that I just looked it up in a dictionary.
