Real Beauty

Autumn’s breath silences the stars,
	Who glisten through the nights,
		Healing, feeling, surreal gentling…

A kiss of leaves, falling from the trees,
	Silencing the shadows, with a prayer
		Meant for God to hear… just hear…

So I can see the beautiful in the fall,
	Where hope quiets the darkness,
		Where faith penetrates the glowing…

Beautiful moments, peace overflowing,
	Coloring the stars, the skies, the dreams,
		With a glorious sensitivity, the belief…

That comes from seeing through pain,
	Into the wonder of His rain…
		The music, wind, still enchanting,
As a faded smile, a quiet tune of the good news,
	He is always the truth – He is always…
		Beauty.

Long story short my laptop would not and still does not accept the poetrysoup login screen. I'm doing this all on my phone just to get it judged. Regardless, you had me at "surreal gentling..." You're killing it.

David Smith October 30, 2024 at 10:40 PM Such beautiful thoughts here. Written with clarity and the use of autumn to carry it all off worked perfectly. Great opening line. I think most would agree the peace that can be had through really seeing Autumn for the first time and feeling god's presence in the beautiful glow of the sun setting on a scene that leaves us speechless and short of breath. Thank you for this one David in NZ
