Reading In Bed

Languid and luscious wet 
like watercolors I lay near 
pillows seeking words 
in a writer’s space riding 
the story coursing 
with compassion freely I drop
the book crested crimson
melts into hot rose petals soft 
and succulent rising 
into you falling into you
