Reading Between the Lines
See all these lines
That are written on my face
Each one tells a story
With the line they trace
Some lines from hardships
The times I got upset
Others from the joy
Gained from people I've met
There are lines around my lips
I have always loved to smile
The lines have gotten deeper
They have been here a while
Sure I've had my worries
My emotions have been stretched
The evidence has appeared
On my forehead, visibly etched
Mostly they are happy
The fine lines around my eyes
I've been blessed with laughter
I am such a lucky guy
Some may wish to hide
The lines on their face
When it comes to me
That isn't the case
Each and every line
Natures special gift
No need for a surgeon
to give me a lift
After reading Debra Squyres' Poem Life Lines, I was inspired to write the attached Poem. Be sure to read Debra's poem it is excellent.
