James. "...and the first shall be last..." Just remembering a Bible verse as I read this first Haiku after having read the last already. Actually you are doing very well with the form. And, if you tie a string of them together, if they are about the same topic, you have a poem similar in structure as the Tanka. Keep writing. They're GGrrrreat! Always, Dane

As children we learn from such simple things as casting stones into water. I learned about light reflection playing on the porch with a mirror and studying animals always provided great lessons in nature. Excellent haiku form, James, and you say much in three lines! Love, Carolyn

i still haven't quite gotten skilled at understanding haikus. in my opinion, haikus want to express an image of something simple that nevertheless has great meaning (at least i hope i'm right :)) ). reading this, i see a child tossing a small rock against the smooth surface of a lake, making the stillness and the quiet scare away. [ ] and this small example of physics simply suntanes the idea that everything has its own course in life and even if a new element disturbs something, that something will manage through it. sort of like people do. i hope you like my interpretation. keep up the good haiku work, i love it. Stephanie
