Raven

Rising dark against the sky,
Rustling wings in echoes cry.
Riddles whispered, secrets deep,
Restless shadows stir and creep.
Rain-soaked feathers, sleek and cold,
Ravens watch as fates unfold,
Ruins lie where truths were told.

Thank you so much, Paige That means the world--this one flowed out like a whisper on wings, and I’m so glad it landed with you. Ravens always seem to carry more than just feathers, don’t they? Effortless or not, your words made my day!

This is a good tribute to a fascinating bird. Smart, he is. I love the rhyme and simplicity matched with the haunting legacy of the bird who has it all.
