Rat-A-Tat-Tat

Rat-a-tat, Rat-a-tat, Rat-a-tat-tat sounds of war, tattered fife, ragged drum In feathered cap, Yankee Doodle went to town where he met a clever man named Madison Wrote up a constitution, though not for everyone rights for whites -- but not for blacks or browns... Now it's 2 1/2 strife-torn centuries later some love the USA; others hate her Rat-a-tat, Rat-a-tat, Rat-a-tat-tat so many promises ~ fallen flat Machine-gun fire nightly in 'most every city 'Twas it all for naught ~ 'twould be a pity

Statues to Al Capone are hot among 'those in the know,' I hear. Lori Light and her pathetically inept Police Superintendent and Prosecuting Attorney don't want to know about that. Carry on, Soldier. ~ Gershon

It does seem somewhere, one has lost the plot. As a citizen of any country that person's rights should be as others, no more no less. Love the poetry, it is so meaningful.

Harry, appreciate your brilliant -- truly brilliant -- analysis of the situation... far better than my meager poem. Spot on, my friend. Here's to rewinding the plot. ~ Gershon

Ah, Gershon, you have given me much to think about here. I love the poem...will have to chew on it piece by piece. Not to do so would be "a pity."
