Notes About The Poem

Author's Notes:  This is a "Tanka" or a Japanese verse form write on the subject of "Rapture." For this write, I examined "Rapture" from the perspective of what I sense and feel, as a poet, when I consider its spiritual application above and beyond our "Earth Plane" existence.  For me, Rapture does quite literally reflect both a spiritual and a magical force as one.  The syllable count for this Tanka is: 5-7-5-7-7, for a total of 31 syllables, and the total number of words is 20 for this write.  (Gary Bateman - January 3, 2015) (Tanka)

Rapture

A wondrous delight—
Spiritual movement pure!
Rapture is that joy . . .
	A magic force for poets . . .
Arrival one in God’s arms!

You are absolutely right Gary. I think it is the nearest word of ecstasy-a euphoric transcendent state. A perfect 10 from me. I think You and Ingrid have enjoyed the holiday with all family members in fullest enthusiasm. Love to you and Ingrid. Does she read my poems? What is her impression about them?God bless you both. Let the frost fall like the gift of God.Your friend RAJAT

Rajat My Dear Friend . . . A most Wondrous and Happy New Year to you and your family!! Yes, "Rapture" most definitely also fits the description of "ecstasy-a euphoric transcendent state," as you mention in your comment. Ingrid has not seen all of your poems, but I've highlighted a number of them to her. And, she's very impressed with your poetry indeed Rajat!! Your writes are truly phenomenal. Best Wishes and God Bless Rajat!! Gary
