Rapt Agog, Bent

Agog, I in flutter, in love, first sight
Eyes all rapt, locked up, in fixed stare, glaring
Smitten by beauty, enraptured my plight,
Could not draw my eyes away, despairing
That this love adorning was forewarning
Of frustration, fraught with disappointment
Looming up inevitably, not meant.

Hmmm, I don't think I have seen rhyme royale on the winners' list yet, so this was clever of you using this little used form. You did it really really well, John. Congrats for your win.

Only a wise man can see danger in the face of beauty. Very wise write, John:)

I love this, John Anderson. "That this love adorning was forewarning." May it not happen to such a good poet.
