Notes About The Poem

Raindrops on Roses

pink petal’d-petrichor scent brumous blossoms fold dark rain falls from sunless skies still, her garden’s gold doused roses airing as bright beam disperses clouds poised beauty flaring

Wow.... fantastic.... A real beauty! Till yesterday, we had sunless skies for long and heavy rain battering my rose petals.

The reappearance of the roses after a rain gives me joy. I love how you put thoughts of beauty into a poem.

Almost a triumph here. Takes beauty to see beauty - "poised beauty flaring" :)

Lovely write. Delightful. The rain in Spain is never plain -- not there nor anywhere else, each drop a stork of rosy rebirth. Let us sweep daily our minds and hearts as we do our chimneys, the soot out, and the fresh in.

'The Favourite Things' contest title and the "Raindrops On Roses" had me ready for a take on Julie Andrews but your poem beats all of that sound of music hands down. I love the lines: "..dark rain falls from sunless skies still, her garden’s gold" - I just wish I'd written that:) Great work Kim. Cheers - Gary
