Raindrops Falling

When I was a kid, I often saw the rain
My mom said that the sky is crying
I wanted to console the clouds in the sky
Catching its tears, I never stopped trying

As I went to school, rains were fun
We splashed the water and danced along
Falling in the mud on purpose was cool
I and my friends sung the raindrop song

When teenage hit me at its large
Rain was the most romantic fall
I held his hand and walked in the rain
Enjoying the raindrops-large and small

As I grow old, I’ll avoid the cloudburst
The raindrops will be nothing but pain
I’ll curse the mud and traffic and moss
But still inside I’ll love the rain
I’ll long to see the raindrops’ train

Congratulations on your win in my "Raindrops Falling" contest Apoorva. I had a very hard time judging this contest as most of the poems were so well written. Thank you for supporting my contest. Love, Carol
