Notes About The Poem

Raindrops Acrostic

Rivulets of rain run down my misty window pane
All day long the cats and dogs have teemed down
I really need some sunshine on my pale skin
Non-stop rain makes me feel chilled to the bone
Drip, drip, drip, crystal teardrops fall from the sky
Rivers are swollen I hope there is no more flooding
Overcoats and wellies are worn by everyone
Please can the rain stop falling
Summer sunshine you are welcome to come and visit us soon

I just fell in love with the picture when i was looking for one to go with the picture :-) Thankfully we do not get flooding often - the last time was when we had VERY strong winds and high tides and there were homes badly damaged from the water - the pictures of people canoeing along one of the high streets in the North of the Island have always stuck in my head! hugs jan xx

There can be a sadness in the rain. You have expressed that melancholy feeling wonderfully in your poem Jan. I will send you some of this Hawaiian heat we are having. Cheers, Connie

When it rains I open a bottle of champagne – in no time my life is sunny and warm! At the moment we are frying in summer heat. Thanks for pointing out my misspelling of harmony. / M

I know the feeling Jan. Yesterday we had such heavy rainfall accompanied by ice particles. Imagine a tropical country getting ice rain. Your acrostic has a good flow - one doesn't realize it until I see the form. Good one, Jan! hugs :-)

Hello Jan... we need the rain, but boy-o-boy, if it is constant day after day it can be depressing. It is winter here Jan, but its a blue sunny sky today; I'll see if I can send some of it up to you. Regards - Lindsay

Wonderful poem, Jan, a 7. I'm glad the weather has been great here they even mentioned yesterday no drought. Though my aunt in Calif. said they desperately need water people are even hiring to have the grass painted green. Hugs Eve
