Rainbows of Balloons

Rainbows of Balloons (the friendship song) You’ll find me down by the river skipping stones in tune to the great firs that hum when the soft wind touches their tops with its light strum. You’ll find me lost far in the clouds where smiling blossoms gather up in a crowd around their conductor who’ll guide them in a sun dance through spring showers. Nature with you I will celebrate we'll write songs ‘till late, open all the gates, so come with me today, celebrate the day, let us sing and dance in the light rains of May. We’ll roll down in the fields in the middle of June send rainbows of balloons that will sure reach the moon. We’ll swim down the river when July comes around and we will not be found until they think we’ve drowned. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I’ve matched the lyrics to Yiruma’s music (Springtime) in this piece. After the musical interlude (1:30-1:58), the second musical part repeats itself from the poem’s second stanza, not the first.

This poem can be set to music, just like Ronald Binge's Elizabethan serenade. An ideal ode.

Joseph, thank you so very much for this wonderful review. I was wondering if you were able to listen to the videoclip above of Yiruma's wonderful piano composition? He totally inspired the lyric:)

Thanks Tim, sometimes it is not a pen. I have been known to write with crayons, and even eyeliner (once in the car 'cause I didn't have a pen). When the music plays, I feel compelled :)

Hi Anne-Marie. I can only speak for myself but I thank you for spreading beauty and tranquility. The music enhances your words of a true friendship to which you express so eloquently and beautifully from the title right to the end. It was a wonderful fit and match. I loved the title by the way. You once again give us the total package. May all know your words and have this in their life because going through life without a friend. Have a wonderful afternoon. Well done in its entirety.

Thank you ever so much for your incredible review Lisa. The words were inspired from the wonderful friendship that has developed this year between my daughter Maggie, who is Chinese American and her best friend Mayra, who is Mexican American; as for me, I am French American . . . so you see I felt like we formed quite a rainbow of colors :)

Anne-Marie, this was incredibly beautiful and the piano composition is such an enchanting compliment to this amazing piece of writing. Your heart shines brightly in this poem as the friendship you offer to your two friends is warmer than any summer day and comforting and welcoming as a cool breeze. I loved everything about this and being a pianist, it really touched my heart.

I couldn't agree more and the piano is the best place to learn, because once you learn piano you can basically play anything. Good luck with your musical venture Anne-Marie and perhaps someday I can share a few of my piano compositions.

Thank you so much, Chris, for such a kindhearted comment. I believe it is never too late in life to do what you are passionate about. To me, it's the piano; and even though I'm taking my first steps, stumbling along the way, the very sight of the instrument touches my heart. I may not be able to play Yiruma's music, but he's touched my soul and now lives within me.
