Notes About The Poem

Rainbow Tree

Oh my regal Eucalyptus friend,
Your tall rainbow trunk is rooted deep,
Stationary, yet your tree tops bend
In constant unison with the wind.
My camera can’t capture your awesome sweep.
Thin limbs try to reach the azure sky
While your trunk fascinates passersby.
An army of ants reveals a platoon
Moving over bark to their marching tune.
Your small leaves sing in susurrate song,
A Queen amidst trees where you belong!

Connie, this tribute to the tree is as beautiful as the tree itself—beautiful in rhyme scheme, in imagery, in word choice, and in flow. I love it. A 7 for sure!

Love the poem the picture and the spirit in which you write my friend! What a wonderful tree, its majesty reminds me of a tree near our home as a child. It was a beautiful old weather ravaged mulberry tree. Finally thanks to you I have seen a tree matching its beauty. Thanks and super 7 on this awesome poem..

This is the first time that I have seen a picture of a rainbow eucalyptus; your write contributed no end to give it life and colour; also enjoyed your platoon of ants marching to a tune! /x/ paul

Thank you Paul. You know these trees grow to be as tall as 200 feet. They far surpass the tall pines near-by the one I took a photo of. They are very impressive trees indeed. I appreciate your comments. Mahalo, Connie

I'm not sure which enamored me more, The poem, the tree, or your facts about it. One thing is certain... That tree has been given due honor by your talented gift. Hugs, Sarai
