Rainbow Remnants
In quiet moments
I think about what was
and what could have been.
Wish I could peel
back the color of rainbows
and find the father's
promise there within
that says
I will be your protector.
Sometimes I hear
him whispering
there was nothing more
you could have done
Every tear we cry at night
destined
to interact with
morning light,
Today, there maybe
an unspeakable
sadness that overshadows
Tomorrow, a rainbow
that reminds us
to search
for the good
God has hidden
in each and every day.
Quietly wiping tears away
Rainbow stains
remain
