Rainbow Days

Your smile illuminates The darkest parts in me. Leather bag draped Over your brown tweed jacket. Your silver lapel badge, Winks in the sunshine. The scent of your perfume Drifts on the breeze. I want to hold you, to love you. Your eyes, like cool, blue, pools Invite me to dive, to luxuriate In the depths of your beautiful soul. When all the bombs have fallen And life has crushed the stars, I will remember those rainbow days, The sun and soft rain on your face, Your strength, your beauty, your grace. And love will flood the arid ruins Of a lost and empty life.
