Rain of Pain

The rain falls hard on this lonely night,
As I stand here in the dim street light.
My heart is shattered, my spirit broken,
As I think of the words you left unspoken.

I loved you more than anything,
But you found someone with a bigger ring.
Someone better, someone new,
And now I’m left here, feeling so blue.

The raindrops hit the pavement hard,
As I think of her in someone else’s yard.
My heart aches, my soul is torn,
As I realize I’ve been left forlorn.

I thought our love was strong and true,
But it seems it wasn’t enough for you.
You found someone you thought was better,
And now I’m left here with this heart-stutter.

I gave you everything I could,
But it wasn’t enough, it wasn’t good.
You wanted more, you needed more,
And now I’m left here, feeling so sore.

The rain keeps falling, never-ending,
As I stand here, heartbroken and pretending.
That everything’s okay, that I’m fine,
But inside I’m dying, I’m losing my mind.
