Notes About The Poem

We the people cannot continue to let our corrupt, and self serving politicians, continue to drive us towards extinction.

Rain Falling

Rain Falling
By Franklin Price
6/1/2018

Rain falling on the mountains
Overcoming you and me
Results are running downhill
Torrents running to the sea

Streams and rivers rising
Bringing flooding to our town
The land is saturated
Hillsides are coming down

The governor claimed disaster
I'm pretty sure he's right
Alberto added to it
It rained throughout the night

Brings me thoughts of our great country
And the storm that we are in
The torrents in our politics
That inundate us once again

The hillsides of our politics
Are collapsing on our town
We must fight this storm analogy
Or our nation's going down
