Rain

Outside I could hear it,
tip-tap tap-tip
hitting the window pane
tip-tap tap-tip
in the background the television played
tip-tap tap-tip
and old western with John Wayne
tip-tap tip-tap
I wanted to preserve this memory
tip-tap tip-tap
and frame it beneath glass
tip-tap tip-tap
then one day I will look upon it again
tip-tap tip-tap
gaze into the intricate making and design
tip-tap tap-tip
before I lose it to find it smashed
tip-tap tap-tip
