I am a metaphor for tears, born from murky clouds, pouring gracefully or rampantly, in a choreography of liquid grace, dancing to the sound of pitter patter, upon rooftops and window panes~ but I am mercy, flourishing your crops, nurturing roots of blossoms, softening hydrated lands. Yet cursed by climate change, I am blamed for human neglect.

I enjoyed this Ink, the language you use in your personification of the stuff that pours "in a choreograph of liquid grace", reminding me of why I like it - especially the sound of it when I'm drifting off to sleep.

IE, you integrated beautiful images with science--I am so impressed. Rain is such a wonderful thing to watch and experience. You express the words with so much simple and elegant grace all at the same time.

I love the metaphor for tears. A dance in the rain, so much tears would drip. "but I am mercy, flourishing your crops." Loved this line. Without rain how would we eat? Loved how you portrayed the rain.

Even the ordinary phenomenon of nature is made highly symbolic as a metaphor for tears and an agent of grace. In this poem, you have included many thoughts of current relevance.... man's total neglect of nature, the drastic nature of climate changes, and above everything the benevolent and graceful effect of rain..! ..."pouring gracefully or rampantly, in a choreography of liquid grace," What splendid imagination! Into my FAVE.

Loved the sounds of your rain falling. Gives one a melody by itself. So long as I don't get wet, I love the rain. It seems to clear the air and clean the streets. Well written, dear poet.

I am liquid grace, I am mercy... Such awesome word choices. Rain often gets a bad rap, in fact it's raining here now and the wife had to cancel her planned activity. But it's a gift from God and nourishes the planet, as you poetically describe.

Rain speaks eloquently in your words, Ink :---pouring gracefully or rampantly, in a choreography of liquid grace, dancing to the sound of pitter patter, upon rooftops and window panes---I am mercy, flourishing your crops--well said, indeed!

Your personification is excellent, you did very well being rain.. Is it your favourite element? There are a host of wonderful lines here, from the beginning with you saying you are a metaphor for tears, that is so simple, but so clever.. Really loved the line about liquid grace, I guess when it is warm rain it will dance so much better than when it is heavy rain like a monsoon.... I am mercy.. so, so true, lookat all those countries that have no rain and suffer.. very clever Ink... I can see

You used a lot of thought and intellect in this one, instead of just being a drip.. The ending is brilliant and really profound, so so true.... It has been raining a lot here in the UK.. We've had the wettest February and start to March in over 250 years.. All the best in the contest..

Dear Empress, I just loved how beautifully you captured the duality of rain, symbolizing both tears and mercy. I feel you really evoked a sense of empathy for this natural phenomenon, highlighting its essential role in nurturing life while also acknowledging its scapegoating amidst climate change. Dear Empress this is such a thought-provoking piece that invites reflection on our relationship with the environment and our responsibility towards it. Wonderfully insightful and a Fav! - Blessings, Daniel
