Rain

. Ah.
            Can
            You
           Smell
        The rain?
       In its wake
     The scent of
         Nothing.

                                                   Ah.
                                                  Can
                                                  You
                                                  Feel
                                             The rain?
                                           Cool drops
                                         Fall quickly on
                                    The skin, splashing
                                   As they make contact.
                                   Liquid that quenches
                                     The parched skin.
                                            Wonderful.

. Ah.
                                    Can
                                    You
                                   Hear
                               The rain?
                              The steady
                             Pat, pat, pat,
                          Upon the open
                         Window invades
                        The ears; the head
                           Droops slightly
                             In response.
