Rage Is Not Mine To Keep
Anger
I cannot feel
For when my lip twist and turns
Theirs nurse those fated words
Hostile
Rough, her hair and skin
Are tough
The ash falls
The embers and flame
Snuffed out by a gust of
Impenetrable change
Rage is not mine to keep
No it is theirs
Their spear and the bullet
With the barrel pointed to the forehead
Of the finger on the trigger
Anger, Joy
They do not know the difference
For my shouts hold a
Certain tone
A shift in the air
A laugh
Or is it a cry
For help
For anyone to
Please help
Rage is not mine to keep
Neither am I
My hands bound
Turned away from the air of
Boundaries
Do you not know boundaries
But I am angry
I am so angry
I am so angry that I could just
Rage is not mine to keep
Neither am I
For the smile that graces my face
It filled with teeth that
Hold it all in
And all I
Want to do is
scream
I want to scream and
Feel the things promised
To me didn't they say
I could have my
Own
They own my
scream
They own my scream
And rage is not mine to keep
Neither am I
