Rabbits


"Rabbits"

down the rabbit hole 
we go 

looking 
for what, we are yet 
to find and fully know

love leads us through
we look back for a little while
we observe shadow’s sad reflections

calling out to us 
in the setting sun
we turn away, face forward, 

we've just begun

we are at the intersection
and the Pooka 
whispers -

"there’s no place like home"
"there's no place like home"
"there's no  place like home"

time pulls us in, it runs 
like a rabbit, fast 
that ridiculous rabbit runs

breeds 
urgency
a trite necessity

we’ve now opened emerald gates 
our journey rumbles us
into the bejewelled jungle

familiars give us trouble
we fall in love fast
we bleed and stumble

we get up again
along the road
we grow, 

we try for a while
to be sensible,
we try to be humble

humour winks,
and warns

invisible
rabbits

are trouble

Alice Lidell was the daughter of Lewis Carroll's friends. I never heard of him being accused of pedophilia. I would like the name of the documentary of which you speak. G'day! Robert

It is very noble of you, or anyone to reject the possibility that Carroll was a paedophile. But I can assure yourself and any other reader, that I do know my subject matter (absolutely); if you thoroughly research the man, you will be appalled at what is uncovered in research and investigation, if you care to look. Like Jimmy Saville, those enablers close to Carroll, chose to cover his behaviour, habits and history up.

If, like many people do, and one turns the other cheek surrounding the material uncovered and the controversy surrounding this man, and fall under the delusion that he is this charming raconteur and civilised human being, who would never contemplate harming a pre-pubescent child, in his case, most notably female - then one can understand how this crime continues every second, every minute, hour and day in every year for sexually abused children. There is a plethora of reliable research to look into on Carroll, when it comes to paedophelia and his background. He fits the psychological profile of a paedophile, completely.

It is a certainty, from my personal experience and academic experience ...and then further indepth research, that Carroll (the good Reverend Dodgson) was in 'fact' a paedophile (surrounded by cohorts and enablers) and that he most definitely groomed the Liddell parents and their three very young daughters. The photographs are not 'purely' artistic. Especially the one of Lorina Liddell, but there are many photographs of little girls that, any parent in this day and age, would agree are not normal, pornographic and alarming. To quote, "Wonderland is a place where "everything is slightly off, even the good people.”"

I found out we can't all be Alice, so there I was. Who am I? She comes and goes or stays put all day long. She materializes when least expected--at the beach, at the park, or in a busy avenue. With a wide and enigmatic grin, she appears. Is she happy, mischievous, or just a bit off in the head? When you think you have her figured out, poof! She's gone! Well I wouldn't want to be Alice, as her creator was a paedophile, and she was a real girl, one of three sisters, if one goes down that rabbit hole. BBC covered it all in a documentary and deeper research into Charles Dodgson (Carroll), reveals much. Of course there are those that would refute such allegations. By all accounts he was a real charmer, as well as a fabulous raconteur. Some of us relate very well to Dot ... and have lost our Red Shoes. If only those low flying witches and flying monkeys could bury the queen holding Medusa's head (who morphs occasionally into the Mad Hatter), but I kind of secretly feel there is more to that dreaded queen's back story. It's interesting to relate the psychology of each character Alice meets with, back into the psyche of the author (Carroll aka Dodgson).
