QUOTH THE DEMON . . . . The end of the story, never ending Haunting thoughts that will not cease Thoughts from hell, the devil sending Robbing me of any peace Demon from hell, why doth thou haunt me With these thoughts of my sweet Lenore Will I see her e'er again Said the demon, nevermore What then, shall I sit and ponder Tell me demon, I implore Shall my thoughts forever wonder Or be stilled forevermore What ending do I have in sight Through this long beguiling night For my soul is yearning sore To be rid of this anguish evermore Will morning come in blissful splendor And quell the fear of hell's agenda Or must I remain in dark to wander With thoughts of Lenore to ever ponder 26 March 2018 For the contest sponsored by Joseph May Image number 1

You are spot on in using the Poe style for this picture, Curtis! Well written as the sinister emotions flow forth in your fine verse! Good luck in the contest! :)

Thank you, Laura! I have always been fond of this Poe poem. When I saw the picture, it prompted me to coattail it. I hope it doesn't seem like plagiarism!
