Quiet Comfort

Sitting at the table there, Behind her book, Behind her hair, She took a bit of solace in, Quietly, amid the din. Shunned of those she could not be, She rested now Contentedly, Kindred hearts At the table there, Behind the vail of open book, Within the loved Library nook Quiet comfort Library chair. Many poets Met her there.

Sway and flow I go through this rhyme tugged from line to line in three quarter time. It's like a song, sorta. But a sympathetic story too. Written for and to all of us posing as poets. Congrats on a skillful and sensitive piece quite worthy of high placement...at least by this poser.

Thank you for your kind words. I sometimes wonder about the strange poetic muse that can actually make many of us a poet. There are times the poetry simply flows, other times I will work and strain to produce a poem...counting syllables and meditating on each stanza and verse, to no avail. There are times I am nothing less, nothing more than a poet and feeling steeped in a flowing of words, I have found at those times it very difficult to stop the flow. I feel that flow in many of the great poets works, in either a muse of light, or a flowing of darkness, but it is there. Those are the true poets and their influence seems to flow onto us others through the years. Thank you for stopping by and commenting!

Thank you, I agree. I always loved the solitude of the library, especially when I was young and had more time. The breath of the place was books...I loved the very scent.

A beautiful write, we all need quiet times in our life, a library is the place to be, silently sharing the joys of poetry. Belle

This piece puts me in mind of an '80's hair band ballad for some reason. Now I want to listen to Dr. Feelgood to get me up and at it. I hope you don't mistake my intentions here, every letter of my comment is meant as a good natured compliment. Well written my friend and fellow poet.
