Queen Tribute Band

I had some fun with friends so grand
It’s been a long, long time
We heard a great Queen Tribute Band
Musicians in their prime
We sing and clap and stand

The sound was great
The food was good
The dinner we all ate
We wondered if we ever could
Finish the whole plate

Then strike the lights
The show began
“Freddie Mercury” in tights
He didn’t look much like the man
Unless you dimmed the lights

He looked more like My Pillow Guy
It was a sight so strange
He sounded good, I cannot lie
He had an awesome range
So I just closed my eye.

There was a time I opened them
And wished they had stayed closed
During a set, oh, what a gem
His zipper did expose
Things I did not care to see, “Ahem.”

He realized what he had done
Tight leather not his friend
Toward the drummer he spun
To his zipper he did tend
We clapped when he was done.

In the house I have been stuck
The first time to a show!
Since COVID long ago had struck
I haven’t wanted to go
I hope I didn’t press my luck.
