One day out in the country I was led by an old pathway to a hidden place with honeyed scent from a wild garden bed where ruffled blooms reached toward the sky with grace. My spirit lifted too from sheer delight. Dew glistened on each sweet pea’s pretty head. How beautiful that scene in sun so bright - green grass and blossoms in purple and red! May 28, 2016

Beautiful imagery for the contest, Andrea ... I love to find those hidden spots. Do sweet peas really have flowers growing on them like that? I love peas, but I've never grown them, so I don't know.

Well done, very lovely. I am ignorant about the word, Cupani - looked it up, but found nothing. Is it the latin word for sweet peas? Again, very pretty scenery painted by your brush! CayCay

yes, you got it!! I find it very quickly at Google when I type in Cupani! It was first discovered and named this around the 1600's, the purple reddish type!

Love it. Sweet Peas are my favorite flower in all the world! I also wrote a poem about them called, "Party Vine." I love being back in NorCal but miss the wild and easy to grow Sweet Peas of WA State, and British Columbia. I love that these were purple & red. Bet it knocked your eye out!
