Pursuit of life

sun has gone
storms has passed
more times than this puny soul can count,
saw the rise saw the demise,
nothing's changed
but everything has,
stars have landed
seas have changed their course,
sky keeps getting darker
somehow nights shines more,
if you look up, you'll see rainbows,
hidden beneath them
is darkness that ever-grows,
pursuit is all we have
pursuit is what we live for,
it has brought us here
Why doubt it then?

pursuit will carry us
if we learn to chase,
look how far we have came
still there's a long way to go,
the path doesn't lead to victory
it'll make us fall so many times,
we'll remember the taste of defeat no more,
this is what inspires us
This is what we're here for.

Great positive message in your poetry, Vipul. "If you look up, you will see rainbows" such profound truth!! All the best!

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Thanks for the early encouragement, recieving such response from an established writer is such a huge confidence booster, I was really sceptical about posting my poetry anywhere cause it's too personal for me. I hope to inspire new generation towards the love of art that is poetry.
