Punchbowl

Occasionally I wondered upon the finely groomed lawns Amidst the silent crosses and weeping American flags Within one of the immense reservoirs of my great country’s Forever lost diamonds’ ultimate eternal resting place They gave me a sense of calm and a comforting company My fellow brothers and sisters, and a feeling of sadness In some ways I felt I should be resting there with all of them But fate chose me to be their defender and never forget The blood of these diamonds was paid for my countrymen’s freedom
