Pumpkin Monster (Four Haiku)

macabre pumpkin
a real head colored orange
it’s vincent price stuff

-----------------------------------------------------------------

macabre pumpkin
i’d swear it’s pastor smith’s head
smell of fire brimstone

-----------------------------------------------------------

oh lord protect us!
the pumpkin monster’s got loose
he’s on the pulpit

-----------------------------------------------------------

I’m asleep in church
dream of the pumpkin monster
no dream he’s preaching

-------------------------------------------------------------

Fantastic, clever, & witty! Only one question. Are you familiar with senryu? Senryu is the exact opposite of haiku. Haiku is about nature. Senryu is about human elements. The true form of your poem is senryu. Both haiku and senryu have three lines as well as the 5-7-5 syllable count. A fellow poet had educated about the differences of these two forms around 4 years ago. Your poem is great and very funny. That's what senryu is. Human elements along with humor. Hope this helps.
