Notes About The Poem

12/2/2025

It happened to me in 1983 at Las Palmas Del Mar resort in Humacao, Puerto Rico, the site of our annual management conference. Management arrived on Sunday. The spouses would arrive on Wednesday after the two-day conference. My first day there was beautiful, so I decided to walk over a mile along the beach. I applied sunscreen, put on my hat, then took a barefoot stroll along the edge of the water, just enough to keep my feet submerged. As good as the water felt on my feet, I didn't realize how the sun's reflection off the water would cook my ankles. The 2-mile stroll took less than two hours, but the recovery took over 4 days. Lesson learned. Otherwise, it was a great vacay.;-)

I enjoy reading your creative write with a great picture. Good memories are the best kind. Guess the sunburn was not so great. Done that more than once. I enjoyed reading on the top about your vacation. Have a fun day writing away.........
