Psalm of Exaltation

I will sing of mercy and judgment, unto thee, O Lord, will I sing. A wanderer from the way Of right, self exalted in a fool's glow of vanity I scoffed at you my king, 'til death and decay Drove me from the folly's fruit to open again The door of my wounded heart. O sweet rain Of light, O quivering dove of uncloven love You exit your bright portals of heaven above To dwell in my mortal muddle of mud. O let My mute tongue milk the jubilation of praise Let your power reclaiming ransomed breath Lift up my fired pedestal extolling your ways. O God, take all, and be my love's everything Bearer of my cross, High Rock, and my King.

This is an awesome Psalm of exaltation. While reading the lines, I thought this would be a great entry for Brian's Pentecostal Praise Contest; however, I have noticed that you were the winner. If you would like to read some inspirational pieces, check my "2009 Best Christian Poetry Award Book," entitled "Trilogy Moments for the Mind, Body and Soul." It has some great "Pentecostal Praise" pieces you'll love. You'll find it on many book sites. Great job and God bless always! ~Joseph

Once again you have pulled it off. This works excellently and I am very much impressed (and a little envious) by what you are doing here. I have to say that this is so unlike any sonnet I have read and yet you maintain the discipline (the line 'My mute tongue milk the jubilation of praise' is excellently placed for the turn of the argument). The language use is so well employed: it doesn't sound pretentious or forced. This is an excellent us of the psalms as a source of inspiration

God take all and be my love"s everything, bearer of my cross, high rock, and my KING---This is deep, bearer of my cross,we all carry a cross sometime or another in our life and when God is our bearer, when we have faith in him the cross willbe easier to carry, and HIGH ROCK-yes he is a rock where we should build our house and HE IS THE ONLY KING---amen again, this is like a sweet prayer i can turn too when the cross is too heavy--thanks--charma

I have been in that mud puddle L'nass; been there and indulged myself until the fire and wrath literally shook me clean of my every single material thing i had (twice in 1 year!) we love everything, and all from my lack of faith. it was a direct hit. I did not learn, and then BOOM, again I was shook down and left with just my family, and pure, clean light. I never felt so full. beautiful, L'nass, as always
