Psalm 84

A lovely dwelling place
is our almighty God
our soul yearns for His courts
as our heart cries out to the living Lord

Oh to be like the sparrow
and the swallow in its nest
to have a place near God’s alter
is indeed to be truly blessed

Pleading for God to hear
our hearts desires in His ear
for we His anointed ones
would know His favour with no fear

A day in God’s house
as well as singing God’s praise
and reading His love letter
is for His own far better

Our sun and shield is our God
whose favour and honour we are told
is given to the blameless walkers
to whom nothing good He will withhold

The Lord of hosts is the name given
to the one who is the blesser
on all that trusts in Him
for protection from the aggressor

Sparrows are so commonly used to portray peace and beauty. I love that you used that metaphor here. I love this poem, fav line: Oh to be like the sparrow and the swallow in its nest to have a place near God’s alter is indeed to be truly blessed" so beautiful and so true
