Proudly Serving
You’ve always been my greatest joy,
My precious gift from God above.
I’ve tried to guide you on your way
With loose held reins of mother love.
Faith and loyalty and trust,
You have them all in great supply.
You’ve answered to your country’s call.
I didn’t let you see me cry.
My lonely heart is filled with love
For man you are, so proud and strong.
On bended knee, I’m praying now,
Your country’s need won’t be too long.
I am not there as once I was,
To pick you up if you should fall.
I can but pray to loving God
For his protection over all.
I thank you and your comrades bold
For sacrifices you must make
In hiatus from your life’s true goals
For your beloved country’s sake.
