Promise - Remember the Promise

Remember the Promise

Garden gates slammed shut
Tears of shame upon grieving cheeks
Orphans looking back through barred gates
Hear the promise – Messiah – Emmanuel.
Remember the promise.

Apocalyptic storm
Contract to build a haven for life
Sanctuary tossed upon fury driven waves
Covenant in rainbows arching colors.
Remember the promise!

Dreams upon the desert
Watch the morning pass to midnight
Generations like stars beyond your sight
Laughter swaddled in your arms.
Remember the promise!

A pledge of freedom
From plagues and locusts sent
Challenges footsteps to climb the sacred mountain
I Am signature written in stone.
Remember the Promise!

Shepherd slinging stones
Kings and giants give up their crowns
To reign forever from generation to generation
Man after the everlasting heart.
Remember the promise!

Promise never broken -
Living breathing covenant
Eternal promise in two nail scarred hands
King and prophet - brother, friend.
Remember the promise!

Oh, I LOVE this, Sam, a veritable tour of the Old Testament from Adam and Eve through the heroes of the faith (Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, David, Joshua) all pointing to Messiah, with your wonderful refrain of Remember The Promise! Loved the fulfillment in the end... a new FAV for me! Really wonderful writing, my friend ~ John

Well done Sam, a nice summary of the scriptures leading to Christ the Messiah, sadly most don't believe!

It is sad. So many looking for answers and comfort in "all the wrong places." God's plan for salvation was just plain amazing as we look back with our 20/20 sight. It blows me away. Thank you for your message of faith, your friendship and your beautiful comment! Blessings!

Arturo, thank you for your lovely compliment. Sometimes it is hard to remember the promise, but it is the foundation and guiding light for me remembering God's unbroken covenants! Be blessed my friend!
