Promise Me Yet Another Day
Promise me yet another day
To look into your dazzling eyes,
Where I could all of my gaze delay
When I cross a thousand miles.
To behold your lovely sight
Has become to me, a devotion
—Which than a chandelier's light
I enjoy a brighter illumination.
That I want you here by my side,
Would be but a slip of tongue;
All I seek—if I've not lied,—
Is to have you all of my life long.
To you, my heart is always at sail;
If only your love will never fail.
