Prison

Within the walls of isolation
Grows an intimacy with our true self
The walls reflect back an image of us
That many a time we've abandoned in the heat of the moments
The disloyal glamour of the world can embrace us
But it is our true self that never leaves us
Wherever we are it waits for the best of us
The prison may cuff our hands
But it won’t bind our minds
We will grasp fate’s reasons from a prison
And our lips will state a new cause for our freedom
A new cause that will unchain us from this cell
And reward our families and society with our true self
