Prince

He tides me,
Like the moon stirs the seas-
Pulling me in, pushing me
Out,
Burying my feet in the sand
As if to say-

"I don't want you to go,
I don't want you to stay"

Listening to what you said to Linda below I would tell you this piece is not fleshed out enough yet [and yes if a verse is on Soup most publishers will consider it published and a reprint] remember to let the reader know why you wrote this- you have give a single view of a lover and how he affects you- who is He? Prince? say Prince give your pronouns names. Why does he affect you this way? how? when? where? Light & love

prehaps she meant not use HIS name - use a diverent name - even My Lover tides me like the moon stirs the sea - is better than He.

And it's a reference to the movie Prince of Tides. My professor Nancy Mitchell-Ebert suggested I not use his name. I would love to inbox you pieces I am going to submit for publishing. For the poems I posting here I am not going to publish for a longtime.

A PM suggested to not put my best work online because publishers want pieces relatively unread. It's my best piece so when it gets published I will post all of them again. For now I'm focusing on submitting pieces that need a lot of work shopping.
