Pride

Today you celebrate your Birthday
The dawning of a brand new you
Not the day that you were born
But the day that you stood true

The day you confided your secret
The day the world said ‘we know’
The day that the problems started
The day that they started to grow

But you did what anyone would do
You stood by your soul and your heart
And because of your strength, you found her
And now you’ll never be apart

So live your life to the fullest
And love with all of your being
It’s with new eyes that you see the world
Be proud of what you are seeing
