Pride

Pride

You spoke,
my ears heard.
My pride didn’t

You were hurt,
my eyes saw.
My pride didn’t

You cried,
I wanted to comfort.
My pride didn’t

I wanted to show
what’s inside.
My pride didn’t.

I watched you go,
I wanted you to stay.
My pride didn’t.

I sit empty now.
You left.
My pride didn’t.
