Price the house size me up and leave

Sapphire seas under the sun of July
bottles of wine with skyscraper sights
the feeling that spring has started to cry,
making up shapes that litter the sky.
Just a few things that to me drip with joy
what I want you to know, what I want you to employ
but instead it’s not this that enters your head
when you first see my face, laying in your bed.
I want to know what joy is to you, how do you feel loved? What is it they do?
but you stand at the house and you don’t come inside, don’t even peer in and you give it a price
there are so many rooms and avenues to see
but it doesn’t intrigue you, you jump straight to the fee.

A hand to hold when life’s getting old
a venting space open all hours
a place to feel warm when out there it’s so cold
or when each day brings me new showers.
Just a few things that for me, fill the void
what I’m looking for, I don’t want to be toyed.
But all that you want is for me to bare all, before we’ve even met you make the final call
size me up in just one single way
and if I don’t measure up, you get on with your day.

What must have happened that has stolen your sight
to the point where everything is black or it’s white
You don’t see my nuance, you don’t see the way
there’s more to connection than how good you can play.
