Preordained
Meeting you
Was tailored by Fate,
As if the world only revolved
To stop at that one moment
Where your wistful eyes
Were to meet mine.
And the smile that followed,
That calmed your face a-sudden
And smoothed the creases of your frown,
Had come at an instant
That it was lastingly etched
In the pages of time.
Time has passed, life moved on;
Our lives intertwined with lives
That has come and gone.
And though our paths branched,
Our footsteps return with persistence
Towards each other.
Now the very same footsteps
Has brought us to a place
To begin the life-long travel,
Though the road ahead be crooked,
Where our paths shall be separate
No more.
