Pre-Replacements

I bought a new pillow But you may behold, In back of my closet, Where I hid the old. My chair pads were faded; I purchased a set. Did I ditch the first ones? I haven't quite yet. My glasses, old-fashioned, Looked blah on my face. My new ones sit next to The old model's case. Replacements look spiffy, But part of the deal Is chucking the old stuff That's lost its appeal. If I beat my spouse To the Grim Reaper's door, Tossing my pre-replacements Will be his first chore.

Oh dear, not a very happy task for poor hubby, Ilene. I was brought up not to get rid of anything if it was still useful, no matter how it looked. Saves money, too. / M

Oh, are we a bit of a hoarder? :) Great flow to this one. It just read itself. We may be called four eyes when we wear glasses, but we still only have two. I keep my most recent old pair for dirty jobs. Besides that, you should let it go. :)

I love this! I am the same way. I have probably 4 sets of glasses laying around and I'm not sure which were the last ones but just work with whatever is handy! Great write and a FAV for me!

I too have a hard time letting things go, Ilene. i suppose it comes from growing up without. I'm not a hoarder but if I spend my money on something i will use it until it can't be used anymore. loved your rhyme:) Happy Mother's Day, Ilene:)

I too find it so hard to 'let go' of something that has been part of my life for a long time and I bet your new pillow isn;t quite as comfy as the old one!:-) we may live on the other side of the world from each other but are so alike in so many ways Ilene!:-) hugs Jan xx
