Pre-Approval

If something needs to be approved, The answer, it would seem, Should be yes or no, unless, of course, You’re living in a dream. And that is where I am today For logic’s been removed When prescriptions can’t be filled because They are not pre-approved. Will someone please explain that “pre?” It doesn’t make much sense For a doc to justify the drugs She’s chosen to dispense. Insurance is supposed to help Offset the patient’s cost But with “pre-approval” jargon, Some translation has been lost.

I've had the unfortunate experience when the pharmacy informed me my medicine for diabetes had not been pre-approved? But if it was an emergency, I'd have to cough up pardon my slang) $100 for a month's supple. The usual cost is $10! Talk about highway robbery! I got my pre-approval BTW. / M

Wonderfully expressed and scribed! You must have been a journalist for a local newspaper as you certainly have a gift for writing! Aloha! Rico

"preapproval" - whatever could they mean? The insurance companies are nuts. Thank you for the reminder.

Reading your poem makes me so glad I am not in the US, we get given a prescription by the doctor and here on our Island it costs me the equivalent of $4.80 dollars per item but many get it for free:-) hugs jan xx
