Prayer Moments
Mumbling midst groaning of earnest soul
I pour out supplication requests before God
cognizant indeed that He lovingly regards
every prayer* murmur of my heart.
With woes I cannot utter along stuttering pleas
my spirit is quieted by the Holy Ghost’s touch
hushing those reverberating doubt thuds
toward grateful humming of hope.
As I confess whining discontentment along grumbling pride
my conscience receives the Lord’s assured forgiveness
silencing selfishness squeals that echo apathy
for peace-filled service, propelled by faith.
*Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Emboldened words are "onomatopoeia."
