Prayer For the Burning Forests

Prayer for the Burning Forests O' Merciful God Please be kind enough To extinguish the fire Which is engulfing the innocent trees In their devastating flames. Shower your raindrops Shower your love drops On these innocent children of Earth Who are crying in the flames Pushed by speedy winds. Have mercy On these plants trees, animals and birds And even some humans Which have not done any harm To you O' God of fire. They were only rejoicing In the beautiful month of December When the whole world Celebrate the joys of the season. Many new plants and branches Were waiting For the new Spring to arrive So that they may show Their colors and beautiful leaves and flowers Which are shown by new saplings When the spring comes After every Autumn, But many of them are no more now Destroyed by the anger of fire. But many more are still there Waiting for your shower of Love Which can extinguish The more and more increasing flames of fire. If these children have done Anything wrong Please Pardon them O' Merciful God Extinguish the fire Which is engulfing them Every moment in absence of any rains O' Merciful God. Thanks dear friend for your words. In Indian we believe that “Trees and Plants are like our children”. We even do not think it proper to pluck even a leaf from a plant after Sunset. The Fire of American forests moved my heart for a Prayer when flames were rising high & hence this Prayer to God. It is always a joy to hear from you. More on your page. Love and best wishes always…. Dear Ravindra, I saw miles and miles of scorched forest when I lived in British Columbia, Canada. So devastating! Many years later I returned to find it had all grown back. But... I still saw that scorched forest and all the loss of life in my mind. That vision is forever seared on my soul. I will pray with you.

My heart aches when I see any plant trees and forests in flames. The burning forests of US have moved my heart to pray for these innocent children of mother Earth. I wish rains come as blessings for these tress, animals and plants. ...Ravindra K Kapoor
