Prayer Changes Things
unto us came a man the Rev. Dr. M. L. King
He gave Black people in America hope
because he had a dream
to see true equality
in the land of the brave and the free
he told us love is stronger than hate
and faith requires action
so start and end everything with a prayer
for it has a chain reaction
Dr. King understood the power
that prayer does have
and he believed if you use it,
prayer will clear a path
PUSH we say which means
pray until something happens
to call on The Omnipotent One
the Lord God, heaven's captain
Dr. King had a legacy of non-violence
which involved walking by faith
in his fight to stand up against
Injustice, inequality, racism and hate
he said turn the other cheek
and treat people with concern and care
as you never know how the roads in life
can take you anywhere
and that the fire inside of you,
that fire of love and compassion
will have you praying for your enemies as well
in and out of fashion.
Dr. King was persecuted
but he never wavered from his mission.
he used the power of faith and prayer
for it was his great commission.
Dr. King prayed over that civil rights bill.
he invoked the Lord our God to exercise His will
the hearts of men were then affected
and the minds of men rearranged.
The Civil Right bill was then enacted
because prayer brought about change
