Pray

I’m alive, I’m okay; I ain’t gone away Still trying to write a few words everyday Is this lack of creation My eternal damnation… It’s bad when an atheist thinks he should pray

Just need an idea that I know what to do with, Deb. Ordinarily I’ll have a notion pop into my head for a first line, a punchline or just a good sounding line for somewhere in between. Alas those single lines just aren’t happening. When something does jump into my head… you’ll get the first to know. Nice to hear from you ;-)

love this, terry! i've missed seeing your work. i was just wondering if i could write a poem about all the religious poems i come across here (to which i can't relate and won't read after the first inkling) but decided - nah! why invoke people's wrath? humor is the way to go, for sure, and no one does it better than you!

Oops! Sorry for my belated reply, Ilene. Glad you enjoyed this little ditty. Still hoping for some inspiration but coming up with nothing but false starts. Maybe Santa will inspire me… ha ha!

Thanks, Tom. Seems like forever since I wrote much that's brand new. I know ‘Wonder Girl’ was but it’s the exception that proves the rule. I’m toying with the notion of putting some of my ‘songs’ on the music platforms but with 60 million songs a day going on Spotify, mine would be lost in the mire. I shall give it more thought ;-)

Thanks Deb. It’s a weird thing. I’m still ‘putting’ some of my poems to music, adding chorus/refrains, a bridge, improving lyrics, changing lyrics for a better flow when sung and the results are astounding. Yet when I try to come up with a brand spanking new poem… Nada! This little Limerick took about as long to write as it does to read, but hardly suggests that I’m out of the woods. Good job I like trees ;-)
